Developing a Defence program linking the environment may also be practical and useful. As an example, the Army Reserve could be expanded to include an Environmental Reserve Corp. This could implement and develop programs and utilise the Defence force as a training ground or entry point. Concepts like the ‘Mulloon’ could be fully developed and expanded to be a national program and build infrastructure projects across the country. In conjunction with National Parks and Wildlife, and using scientific principles to re-build habitat, this may be a new direction of funding for the Commonwealth that can fund young people and build jobs and skills.
The ‘Mulloon’ is a great concept..”complete” in itself! It is all possible with the money and motivation to take it to another level through targeting and mapping it to regions and rivers across Australia. The Morrison government has already funded the Mulloon Farms to further build their natural rehabilitation programs. See https://www.mcnf.com.au/
Some form of this is already being considered in the new economy after Co-Vid19.
